“Veles” NGO started the year with a VICTORY. Today, the Court of Appeal of Armenia, chaired by the judge Sevak Hambardzumyan, satisfied the appeal against the decision of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Armavir marz dated back to August 16, 2017, filed by the advocate A. Sukiasyan, a lawyer cooperating with our organization. The Court found the ungrounded and obviously biased decision of the Armavir Prosecutor’s Office to be legitimate, according to which the Armavir Prosecutor’s Office, neither violating traditions of the Prosecutor’s Office, nor transgressing law and human rights, once again undertook the role of the advocate of the former head of the General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia, Hovhannes Pavel Yeritsyan, and did everything not to have a criminal case suddenly initiated against him. Sevak Hambardzumyan, the judge of the Court of Appeal of Armenia, made a new decision by which to oblige the proceedings body to abolish the violations of rights and freedoms of Gayane Boris Tumasyan.
LET US REMIND that this case related to the beneficiary of our organization Gayane Tumasyan, who, with the support of our organization, has been struggling to restore her right to property violated by Hovhannes Yeritsyan for more than four years to return her share of the property which went to Hovhannes Yeritsyan’s possession with no knowledge of hers. It should be noted that G. Tumasyan is not the only beneficiary of our organization suffered from H. Yeritsyan’s actions. David Stepanyan had filed a report on H. Yeritsyan, based on which a criminal case was initiated under Article 137 of the Criminal Code of Armenia grounded on the fact that on the basis of threats to life Yeritsyan demanded from D. Stepanyan $ 1 million American dollars. Z. Melikyan also reported that H. Yeritsyan took possession by means of usury of their family property, on the basis of which a criminal case was instituted under Article 213 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
